After over a year of keeping it confidential while it was in the works, I can finally announce the launch of our new brand Barkay. We just opened with the biggest parquet collection in Kuwait. It's like a all-in-one stop for everything flooring. The wooden tiles open up like a deck of cards to reveal the design inside. Not a big deal, just the most gorgeous showroom you’ve ever stepped foot in. There's also a coffee corner so feel free to pass by for some caffiene ☕

اغلاق قسيمة

الهيئة العامة للصناعة قرار رقم ه ع ص ( 223 ) لسـنة 2026 في شأن إغلاق قسيمة المدير العام بالتكليف بعد الاطلاع على: - القانون رقم (56) لسنة 1996 في شأن إصدار قانون الصناعة ولائحته التنفيذية وتعديلاتهما. القرار الوزاري رقم (5/2025) الصادر بتاريخ 9/3/2025 بتفويض مدير عام الهيئة العامة للصناعة في توقيع جزائي الإنذار والإغلاق على المشروعات الصناعية المخالفة. محضر ضبط المخالفة المقدم من قسم السلامة الصناعية رقم (B3-59) المحرر بتاريخ 14/08/2025 المتضمن ارتكاب السادة / شركة المجموعة العربية للسيارات (حمد محمد عبدالعزيز الوزان)- المخالفة التالية: عدم وجود رخصة الإطفاء/ رفض فتح الباب والتعاون. توصية اللجنة الدائمة للمخالفات الصناعية في اجتماعها رقم (06/2026/532) المنعقد بتاريخ 18/ 02 /2026. وبناء على ما عرضه السيد / نائب المدير العام للمواصفات والخدمات الصناعية. وتحقيقا للمصلحة العامة. قرر (مادة أولى) إغلاق/ القسيمة رقم (51) - بمنطقة الشويخ الصناعية الأولى- قطعة (1) – حتى يتم إزالة المخالفات والآثار المترتبة عليها. (مادة ثانية) في حالة عدم إزالة المخالفة بعد مضي (شهر) من تاريخ الإغلاق يتم توقيع جزاء أشد. (مادة ثالثة) ينشر القرار في الجريدة الرسمية ويعمل به اعتباراً من تاريخ صدوره، وعلى الجهات المعنية تنفيذه كل فيما يخصه. مدير عام الهيئة العامة للصناعة بالتكليف شملان حمود الجحيدلي صدر في: 24 يونيو 2026م

Young Po, A New Pan-Asian Restaurant in Kuwait

Young Po is a new Pan-Asian restaurant opening soon, created by local chef Khaled AlBaker (@chefkb). When I found out he was opening an Asian concept I was pretty excited since I love Chinese food and there aren’t that many “nice” Chinese restaurants in Kuwait. I had the opportunity to try out Young Po last week, and I had a great overall experience. Young Po isn’t limited to just Chinese food but also covers a wide range of Asian food including Japanese and Korean. The menu was divided into six categories: Starters Dim Sum Sushi & Sashimi Special Quests Robata Wok The special quests category is for items like roasted duck and shabu shabu, while the rest of the categories are pretty self-explanatory. I ended up ordering the following dishes: Master Garden Salad Lobster on Toast Deobokki (Rice Cakes) Prawn Jiaozi (Dim Sum) Not-so California Roll Chu Toro Nigiri Wagyu Tenderloin (Robata) Baloul Clay Pot (Robata) Brocollini (Robata) Sweet & Sour Shrimp Egg Fried Rice It was a lot of food for just two people, but it gave me a chance to try out a variety of dishes I usually wouldn’t order. I ended up loving everything I tried but, my go-to dish is always sweet & sour (I’m boring like that) and the one at Young Po might be the best I’ve ever had. There were no prices on the menu when I was there, and of this post they’re still being finalized. But, it will be an “upper” casual dining experience. If you want to try Young Po they’re opening in Shuwaikh this Wednesday, May 1st. Reservations are currently open on their website but there will be tables available for walk-ins as well.
