Deals signed for Al Baik and Zain outlets at Bahrain's new terminal

MANAMA: Al Baik, a leading Saudi Arabian quick-service chain, will open its second international outlet at Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new passenger terminal building. The announcement follows the signing of a five-year concession agreement between Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), BIA’s operator and manager, and Al Baik. After signing the agreement BAC chief executive Mohamed Al Binfalah said, “Our goal for the new terminal is to deliver comfort, connections and character at every stage of passengers’ journeys, and having a diverse selection of food and beverage outlets is an important part of the process. The Al Baik outlet at the airport is located in the arrivals area, making it accessible to both the passengers and the public. We look forward to working with them to bring this Saudi Arabian favourite to Bahrain and travellers from around the world.” Al Baik’s chief executive Adil Al Baqr, who signed on behalf of the restaurant chain, said: “We’re delighted to enter the Bahrain market and to be part of one of the most important national projects in the country’s history. Al Baik’s success has been built on hard work and a dedication to serving generations of loyal customers high-quality meals quickly and courteously.” The new terminal at BIA will feature food and beverage outlets spread over a total area of 899sqm, including the arrivals and departures concourses. In addition to well-known quick-service favourites and local brands, the new terminal will offer several regional debuts, including the first TGI Fridays in an airport in the Gulf, the region’s first EAT restaurant, and the Middle East’s first Jamie’s Deli and Pizzeria – a concept from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Meanwhile, BAC has also signed a five-year concession agreement for the operation of a retail outlet with Zain Bahrain. Mr Al Binfalah signed the deal with Zain Bahrain managing director Mohammed Zainalabedin in the presence of Transportation and Telecommunications Minister and BAC chairman Kamal Ahmed as well as Zain Bahrain chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa. “We are pleased to partner with Zain Bahrain to provide everything visitors need to access the kingdom’s high-speed telecommunications services,” said the BAC official, adding “We are confident that visitors will appreciate the wide selection of services available at the new terminal and the highest levels of service that Bahrain has to offer.” Mr Zainalabedin commented: “The new terminal is a gateway to the kingdom, and it is Zain Bahrain’s mandate to provide our guests and customers with the highest quality services. Our presence in the arrivals hall at the new terminal is also ideal for returning residents, giving them access to our products and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” Alongside Zain, stc Bahrain and Batelco will operate retail outlets and offer their services at the new terminal. avinash@gdn.com.bh

Zohoor Alreef

Opening

The story of Zohoor Alreef started in 1991, when two young brothers, Waleed and Faisal AlKhaldi, started creating perfumes using natural ingredients from within their home in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Their customers started out as mainly family members and close neighbors, but as word spread quickly, the AlKhaldi’s fragrances were soon the talk of the town. The brothers received requests from an ever-expanding area and within a year opened their first store a short distance from their home. By 1993, they had opened stores in Hofuf, Jeddah and Riyadh and taken on their first franchisee. By the turn of the century, there were twenty Zohoor Alreef stores across Saudi Arabia, with growing range of products made to perfection, always keeping in mind local tastes and the latest in international trends. Demand was so great that in 2001, as a means to keep pace and ensure the highest quality of tailored “Made in France” products, Zohoor Alreef set-up a state-of-the-art research and production facility in the Burgundy region of France - and area commonly known for its natural and high-quality ingredients. The combination of Zohoor Alreef’s heritage and perfumery skills, combined with high quality standards and French manufacturing experience gave rise to the prestige bodycare range called Le Verger Shop –literally meaning “The Orchard.” The Le Verger Shop range was an instant success winning the prestigious “Quality Era Awards” in 2002 and 2004 in Geneva and Paris respectively, and quickly expanding into sixteen bodycare products in fourteen fragrances. With more than 250 stores and kiosks across the GCC, Zohoor Alreef continues to grow and is committed to serving its broad customer base with the highest quality of French products. The Le Verger Shop range remains fresh with new products being added continuously and ever-more exotic fragrances prompted by the world’s fashion trends. 2015 will see the launch of some truly unique and inspiring fragrances and body care ranges that will re-enforce Zohoor Alreef’s philosophy as a perfume expert. The art of making high quality fragrances is ingrained within the Zohoor Alreef culture, and this skill is passed on to our experienced sales team who share an uncanny ability to create bespoke fragrance for our customers to give them their own signature scent.
