Starbucks® Introduces Reserve™ Coffee at Zalka Store

Beirut, June 2017 : Starbucks has opened the first store with Reserve coffee in Zalka, North Lebanon, served on the unique Clover™ Brewing System. The store offers coffee connoisseurs the opportunity to enjoy the range of specially selected, rare and exquisite Starbucks Reserve coffees. Each coffee is one-of-a-kind, sourced from small coffee growing regions in Latin America, Africa and Asia/ Pacific islands. New to Lebanon, the unique Clover brewing system uses innovative vacuum-press technology to brew every cup of coffee, right in front of the customer. It controls brewing time and temperature digitally, as even small changes can dramatically affect the outcome of the taste. In addition, the store will also offer other premium brewing methods including Syphon, Chemex, Pour-Over and Coffee Press. Each brewing method brings out different notes and flavours of the coffee, offering customers the unique taste profiles of Reserve coffee. “People who really love coffee are always searching for new sensory experiences from their favourite beverage,” said Francois Sadek, Operation Manger – Starbucks Lebanon. “With the opening of Lebanon’s first Starbucks store with Reserve coffee, we aim to give consumers everything their passion for coffee demands: exquisite rare beans from exotic locations selected by our master brewers for the ultimate coffee taste experience. This opening is a very proud moment for us, and we invite everyone who loves coffee to come and taste this wonderful range.” The 482 sqm Starbucks store in Zalka is staffed only by Starbucks Coffee Masters who receive a special black apron when they pass tests on coffee knowledge and expertise. The store offers a stunning environment rich in colour and timber artwork applied panels, warm terrazzo flooring and luxurious leather upholstered furniture, contrasted with urban design features of exposed concrete and customized metal. The unique artwork throughout the store celebrates the history of Starbucks and the origins of coffee. The varying interior seating areas on two levels and external terrace areas allow customers to experience a range of seating styles to enjoy their Starbucks Reserve in this premium location." Three Reserve coffees will be offered at the store opening are Kenya Kangunau, Papua New Guinea Luoka and Rwanda Musasa. The store will also offer Starbucks core range of food and beverages that are known and loved by customers in Lebanon.

New Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar Sparkles in Kuwait City’s Crystal Tower

When Starbucks opened its first location in the Middle East and North Africa region in 1999, the company chose to make its debut in Kuwait City with a café on the Souq Sharq waterfront in the heart of the city’s retail and entertainment district. Eighteen years later, Kuwait City is the site of the company’s first Starbucks Reserve™ coffee bar experience, located in the city’s soaring Crystal Tower. The skyscraper itself provided inspiration for the warm wooden interiors, with triangle shaped panels reminiscent of natural crystal stones. The store combines coffee theater with local design elements, and the craft of coffee takes center stage. Existing signature features were integrated into the design, including a coffered concrete ceiling and exposed brick surfaces. “We are extremely proud to introduce this special store that showcases our passion for coffee in this region,” said Graeme Gardiner, senior operations manager for Starbucks Kuwait. “With an immersive and sensory coffee bar, the new store defines a new opportunity bringing customers closer to their coffee – and Starbucks – more than ever before.” Featuring the company’s rare, small-lot Starbucks Reserve™ coffees roasted at its Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery in Seattle, the coffee bar gives baristas (who are Coffee Masters) a platform to engage in a dialogue with customers over a variety of brewing methods. These methods include manual Black Eagle espresso, as well as pour-over, Clover ™ Brewer, Siphon and Chemex. In addition to the classic Starbucks menu, the location will also feature specialty beverages created at the Roastery that showcase Starbucks Reserve™ coffees. Starbucks Reserve Premium Single-Origin Coffee Line Launches in Select U.S. Markets This Fall

SEATTLE, August 16, 2010 - Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) today announced the launch of Starbucks Reserve™, a line of ultra-premium, single-origin coffees available in select U.S. stores this fall. Chosen by Starbucks coffee buyers for their unique flavors and rarity, Starbucks Reserve™ coffees will be offered in limited quantities and while supplies last in select stores within metropolitan markets including New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Miami. The first offering, Galápagos San Cristóbal, originated on San Cristóbal, one of the oldest geological locations within the Galápagos Islands. The subtropical region's intense microclimate, rich volcanic soil and equatorial sun create ideal conditions for extraordinary coffee. Influenced by these environmental characteristics, Galápagos San Cristóbal is a medium-bodied coffee that features fresh flavors and highlights of green herbs balanced by soft cocoa and spice.
