Michael Kors is strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia by opening the doors to a new store in the country’s capital, Riyadh. Located in Al Nakheel Mall, the store will house women’s ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories from the MICHAEL Michael Kors label, the chic diffusion line from the all-American lifestyle brand. Additionally, for the first time in the Kingdom, the American fashion house will offer consumers the chance to shop pieces from the Michael Kors men's line.

Michael Kors to Open Store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Michael Kors is pleased to announce the opening of a Michael Kors Lifestyle store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this November. The 2,714-square-foot store, located at the Red Sea Mall, will carry ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories from MICHAEL Michael Kors, including handbags, ready-to-wear and small leather goods. The store will also carry watches, jewelry, eyewear and a selection of the brand’s fragrances, as well as an assortment of accessories and leather goods from Michael Kors Mens, including bags, briefcases, wallets, and watches. The design of the new Jeddah store represents an evolution of Michael Kors’ signature aesthetic. Mirroring the brand’s Regent Street flagship in London, the interior features displays of brushed and polished stainless steel and a rich spectrum of finishes evoking dark oak wood, Venetian plaster, and Calacutta marble. A palette of soft browns and grays, mixed with warm woods, textural finishes and luxe materials, reflects the label’s refined take on glamour while providing a modern and inviting ambience in which customers can browse, shop and enjoy the brand’s exceptional personal styling and service.

Michael Kors to Buy Jimmy Choo in $1.2 Billion Deal

On Tuesday,Michael Kors Holdings said it had agreed to buy the shoe company Jimmy Choo for 896 million pounds, or about $1.2 billion, the latest push by an American high-end fashion house to find new sources of growth and what its chief executive characterized as the first step in building a bigger international luxury group. Many upscale brands like Michael Kors have faced plummeting sales and tepid profits. Mall traffic in North America has declined sharply, while shoppers who have traditionally been loyal to the so-called middle market have gravitated toward brands at extremes of the style and price spectrum. The trends have played well for e-commerce giants like Amazon, fast-fashion brands like H&M and Zara, and luxury houses like Gucci. But it has left companies like Michael Kors — once the runaway leader of the “accessible luxury market” — exposed. Jimmy Choo, which shot to prominence thanks to celebrity patrons like Princess Diana and the “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker, could give Michael Kors a new avenue for growth.

Michael Kors opened its lifestyle store in Doha, Qatar. The 3,132-square-foot store, located in Lagoona Mall, carries a mix of accessories from both the Michael Kors Collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors labels, as well as watches, jewelry, footwear and eyewear. The store also carries ready-to-wear from the MICHAEL Michael Kors line and a selection of the brand’s fragrances. The brand’s in-house team designed the store experience to echo the label’s casual-chic aesthetic, using elements like zebra-print furniture, sleek metal fixtures, mirrored surfaces and glossy, large-scale vintage photographs to evoke jet set glamour and timeless sophistication.

The 4,370-square-foot store, located in the newly constructed Olaya Towers, will carry a mix of accessories from the Michael Kors Collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors labels, as well ready-to-wear and footwear from MICHAEL Michael Kors. The store will also carry watches, jewelry, eyewear and a selection of the brand’s fragrances. The brand’s in-house team designed the store to reflect the label’s sophisticated, jet-set aesthetic, showcasing a shimmering exterior that was inspired by designer Michael Kors’ signature use of metallics and texture. The façade consists of luminous screens made of unique, light-reflective facets set within a grid that is internally lit. The interior features a luxurious, modern ambience, along with a clean, neutral palette to create a unique and inviting customer experience.
