PATCHI TAKHASSOSSI BY LAUTREFABRIQUE ARCHITECTES
Patchi is a leader in the luxury gift chocolate market in the Middle East. For the last ten years, Lautrefabrique Architectes has been designing numerous Patchi stores; its most recent addition is in Saudi Arabia. The architects worked within a neoclassical building to establish the brand in contemporary Saudi Arabia. First, they renewed the façade by removing the older neoclassical elements. ‘The idea for this façade was to create a huge screen with a focal point to attract the attention of the motorists who use this main road every day,’ says Marie Mazeau Ferret. Inside, shoppers will find walls of drawers, numerous mirrors, displays and transparent shelves. The high ceiling gives the store an extra spacious feel. Oak makes an appearance in the surprising latticework of a long sculptural element. It crosses the heart of the retail area on the ground floor then springs out of the first floor in a sort of lattice canopy shielding a more intimate area.
